Mark Atkinson is responsible for Mursion’s long-term strategic plan, capital requirements and key leadership positions. Mark has spent the last twenty years building technology ventures that support human capital development in K-12 education and corporate learning. Mark founded TeachForward, LLC a full service educational consulting firm with a proprietary web platform that delivers custom-developed, performance assessments to K-12 educators. Before working in education, Mark served as Senior Producer and Manager of New Markets for CBS News Productions, and was an Emmy award winning Producer for Peter Jennings Reporting, ABC News, where he produced a series of network specials on U.S. foreign policy. Mr. Atkinson is a graduate of Yale College.
Ms. Cates has led growth and innovation in education through her work as an advisor, investor and business leader, with extensive experience within and in partnership with universities around the world. Cates has served as an advisor to public and private universities, education service companies and investors, and was previously the Chief Operating Officer of 2U, Inc., where she led a number of core functions critical to the growth of 2U’s university partner programs, including content production, technology, data analytics, marketing and student and faculty support. Prior to her tenure at 2U, Cates served as President of Executive development at the University of North Carolina Kenan-Flagler Business School and as founding Executive Director of MBA@UNC, the school’s ground-breaking online MBA program.
Ezra S. Field is a Senior Advisor of Roark Capital Group, an Atlanta-based private equity firm with over $10 billion in capital under management. He currently serves as a Director of Roark portfolio companies CKE Restaurants and Pet Retail Brands, and is a former Director of Roark portfolio companies Atkins Nutritionals, CyberCore Technologies, Driven Brands, International Car Wash Group, Jim 'n Nick's Bar-B-Q, Massage Envy, Miller's Ale House, Naf Naf Grill and Peachtree Business Products. He is also a Director of Business Executives for National Security, and is a former Trustee of the Asian University for Women Support Foundation, Global Kids, and the Baltimore Leadership School for Young Women. From 2007 - 2020, Mr. Field served in various roles at Roark Capital, including as a Managing Director, Senior Managing Director, Co-CIO and CIO. He received recognition for his role in leading CEO succession and strategies to reposition assets and cost structure to better serve customers and increase growth at Grainger, led the multi-billion dollar people integration of Conoco and Philips Petroleum, was instrumental in Owens Corning exiting an asbestos-related bankruptcy with an investment grade credit rating and implemented high-performing manufacturing environments at Cummins Engine and Rockwell Automation.

Anthony is the co-founder of DNABLOCK, a revolutionary 3D virtual production platform empowering creators to craft, animate, and distribute photorealistic avatars and cinematic content. Prior to joining Mursion, Anthony served in leading research and engineering roles for prominent organizations including Microsoft, Curious Minds, and Northrop Grumman Corporation. He also served as Managing Partner at Quake Capital, where he led over 15 investments and directed the Los Angeles accelerator. As a former founder of several startups, he continues to lend his expertise and serves as an advisor to numerous startups across the nation. Anthony holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering and Computer Science from the University of Southern California and a certificate in Venture Capital Finance from the University of California, Berkeley - School of Law.

They have consulted with school systems, non-profits, and philanthropic entities, and supported organizational change and talent development at fortune 500 companies while part of Deloitte's Human Capital Practice. Katya began their career as a High School Mathematics teacher in Oakland, CA. Katya holds a BA in Mathematics from Smith College and an MBA from the Yale School of Management. They live in the New York with their wife and son.

Mark is the founder of TeachForward, LLC, a virtual coaching platform for K-12 educators that offers programs for alternative certification and professional licensure and previously founded and served as CEO of Teachscape Inc. Prior to launching a career in educational technology and workforce development, Mark served as Senior Producer and Manager of New Markets for CBS News Productions and worked as an Emmy award winning News Producer for Peter Jennings Reporting, ABC News, where he produced a series of network specials on U.S. foreign policy in Bosnia, Haiti and Iraq. He is a recipient of the Alfred I. DuPont Columbia University “Gold Baton” for his work in Bosnia. Mr. Atkinson is a graduate of Yale College.
Anthony is the Chief Technology Officer for Mursion and is responsible for the strategic vision and direction of the organization’s technology initiatives specifically around the roles of artificial intelligence, avatars, and real-time technology. Anthony is the co-founder of DNABLOCK, a revolutionary 3D virtual production platform empowering creators to craft, animate, and distribute photorealistic avatars and cinematic content. Prior to joining Mursion, Anthony served in leading research and engineering roles for prominent organizations including Microsoft, Curious Minds, and Northrop Grumman Corporation. He also served as Managing Partner at Quake Capital, where he led over 15 investments and directed the Los Angeles accelerator. As a former founder of several startups, he continues to lend his expertise and serves as an advisor to numerous startups across the nation. Anthony holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering and Computer Science from the University of Southern California and a certificate in Venture Capital Finance from the University of California, Berkeley - School of Law.
Chris is a strategic operations executive with demonstrated ability to drive high-growth businesses towards scale. In his previous role, he implemented strategies and processes to scale 2U from a team of 8 employees, through IPO, to a global multi-product corporation with more than 6,000 full-time employees in six international markets. Chris served as a lead member of the due-diligence and integration teams for two industry defining EdTech acquisitions - $110M for GetSmarter, a short course business in Cape Town and $750M for Trilogy Education, a skills-based workforce accelerator based in New York - and guided 2U through a successful IPO and two follow-on offerings that raised more than $630M of capital to fuel 2U’s rapid growth initiatives and multi product line expansion

Honey is responsible for the end-to-end product lifecycle--from strategy to launch--for Mursion products. Her expertise in designing and building products, developing comprehensive go-to-market strategies, and executing successful product launches have helped Mursion deliver immersive simulation technology to organizations across the globe. With over 15 years of experience at companies like Uber, Covisint, Internet Brands, and Safeway, Honey is skilled in leading cross-functional teams, shaping organizational strategy, and driving execution with a focus on operational efficiency and revenue growth. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Boise State University and a Master’s in Business Administration from Golden Gate University.
Katya works closely with the CEO and leadership team to support effective strategy and operations. Prior to Mursion, Katya served as COO of Propel Capital, a philanthropic and investment fund supporting visionary leaders challenging the status quo and driving transformational change. Katya has over 20 years of experience in strategy, operations, management, and learning. They have consulted with school systems, non-profits, and philanthropic entities, and supported organizational change and talent development at fortune 500 companies while part of Deloitte's Human Capital Practice. Katya began their career as a High School Mathematics teacher in Oakland, CA. Katya holds a BA in Mathematics from Smith College and an MBA from the Yale School of Management. They live in the New York with their wife and son.
